Dr. Karen Blessey discovered that a traditional burp cloth was an inefficient tool for burping a baby after the birth of her first child. It kept falling off her shoulder, and it did a poor job of protecting her clothes.
With the help of her friend, Adrienne Thompson, who had memories of a similar dysfunction with the diaper turned burp cloth, they developed the Gebbie Cloth. The Gebbie cloth arrived with the birth of Dr. Blessey's second child George, and is named for his initials GEB.
As friends started clamoring for the new product, they formed the company Yes, Sarah.LLC, named for Karen's daughter, and first little angel. Soon after they opened an online webstore.
